Rio Douro Construction (Pvt) LTD was formed in 1981 by Antonio Ribeiro & Gloria Patricia Pereira, with a couple of good artisans and a great deal of motivation. This company was soon to emerge as a leading construction company in Zimbabwe with abilities to construct building projects in the ‘Unlimited Category’ classified by the governing construction body in Zimbabwe, namely, The Construction Industry
Federation of Zimbabwe (CIFOZ) Rio Douro is a family built business, with 2 Directors;
David Pereira who joined the team in 1989, and obtained many certificates in concrete technology and is now currently Our
Contracts Director.
Richard Pereira who joined the team in 1992, studied as a
Quantity surveyor, and is now currently Our Managing Director.
Due to the outstanding workmanship of the employees, the company has earned a very good name for the high standard of work on projects. Safety is always of high priority and this is demonstrated in our completed and ongoing projects.
The company has a large fleet of trucks, varying from small tippers, to 30 ton Cross-Border rigs. Included in the fleet is a wide range of well maintained plant, including excavators, loaders and a 25 ton Zoomlion Mobile Crane Rio Douro has completed a large quantity and wide variety of works from private residences to hospitals, schools, commercial properties and grain silos.
